Meet Our Team
Babette Thomas (they/them) is a radio producer, artist, writer and PhD student at Yale University in the departments of African-American and American Studies. They’ve worked at institutions such as The Whitney Museum of American Art, The National Museum of African American History, SF MOMA and NPR. In their work, they explore how new media (specifically sound media) can be used to tell Black history and Black stories in ways that are tangible, educational and accessible. They produce podcasts, radio stories and sound works about Black history and culture.
Alex Hanesworth
Alex Hanesworth (they/them) is an audio storyteller and sound artist. They are invested in community oral history, the poetics of space, and in the liberatory potential of memory work. They have created media for the Center for Restorative History at the National Museum of American History (Smithsonian), the Wharton Esherick Museum, the Center for the Study of Slavery and Justice, and the RISD Museum. They have also taught radio production and oral history at Blue Stoop, the Providence Public Library, and Brown University.
Emma Vecchione
Emma Vecchione (she/her) is an audio producer with experience creating work for cultural institutions both as an in-house producer and an independent production partner. She is interested in audio’s strong imaginative and transportive power, and the possibility of activating communities through both digital and experimental on-site experiences. Her work fuses the perspectives of community members and museum workers to craft nuanced narratives that enrich our understanding of the past and reimagine the future of art museums. She has worked for the Metropolitan Museum and the RISD Museum, and she has worked on audio projects with Carnegie Hall and the Rubin Museum.
Liza Yeager is a radio producer and writer. Liza's audio documentaries have aired on BBC's Short Cuts, Invisibilia, 99 Percent Invisible, WNYC's Nancy, Planet Money, and Latino USA, among other outlets. An independent editor and producer, Liza has also worked for Radiolab, Planet Money, Invisibilia, New York Magazine, Jacobin Magazine, The Museum of Modern Art, the Brooklyn Public Library, and Marfa Public Radio.
